Fruit Cocktail Cake

2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cans fruit cocktail
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup nuts

Sift dry ingredients into large bowl. Beat eggs with vanilla and add to dry ingredients. Stir. Add fruit cocktail. Pour into an ungreased 9x13 pan. Sprinkle with one cup of brown sugar and 1/2 cup chopped nuts. Bake at 325 for 50-60 minutes. Serve with whipped cream
